Overview

• The auxiliary hoses to the prime mover are individually protected with a Cordura sleeve and collectively wrapped with an additional spiral hose protector to prevent hose damage. cutters come standard with a motor cover that protects the hydraulic hose connections from debris. Many competitive models leave these components exposed and vulnerable to damage.

Maneuver trees and brush with the front push bar

Overview

• A heavy-duty front push bar is integrated into the rotary cutter deck structure which can be used to guide trees when felling. 
• Aggressively serrated corners of the push bar are useful to maneuver trees and brush. 

Direct drive bearing provides 1200-hour maintenance interval

Overview

• The RX-Series utilize a hydraulic valve to brake quickly and safely. An audible sound is heard during shutdown to indicate the blades stopped spinning. The direct drive bearing requires a 1200-hr drain and refill maintenance interval. Many competitors typically require maintenance intervals as low as 500 hr.

Overview

• The RX-Series have bolt-on skid shoes that can quickly be replaced in the field when worn out. Skid plates are standard on each rotary cutter, and replacement skids can be ordered as a field kit with all hardware included. 

Retractable forward shield opens expose blades

Overview

• An exclusive forward shield rolls back when contacting larger diameter trees, and its weight returns the shield to the closed position during normal operation. This feature exposes the blades for felling standing trees and then covers the blades during ground cleanup. Smaller trees, foliage, and brush bend beneath the heavy weight of the shield as they are drawn into the cutter. The shield provides a barrier to the operator while in its retracted state. Additionally, the shield mechanism does not require maintenance or grease. 

Deflect flying debris with weighted, heavy chain curtain

Overview

• A heavy-duty chain curtain across the front of the cutter deck knocks down and minimizes flying debris during operation.

Standard pressure gauge monitors blade load for maximum performance

Overview

• A standard pressure gauge with color coded zones provides visual feedback of the brush cutter’s performance. This feature helps an operator maintain the most efficient operation of the rotary cutter when cutting heavy brush without stalling the motor and overheating the system.

Blade carrier system engineered for demanding applications

• The Blade Kit is a John Deere field kit that contains three 16 mm (5/8 in.) AR400 replacement blades and all retaining hardware required to replace all blades on an RX-Series. It is recommended practice to replace all mounting hardware when replacing blades.
