40' Stack-Fold Planter

Designed for the Delta, the PL5205 is a 40' mounted stack-fold planter that excels in wide row applications. This 12-row system can accommodate a variety of crops and is available in 36”, 38”, and 40” spacings on single- or twin-row configurations. The exclusive side-shift option allows operators to switch from twin- to single-row in under an hour. 

To efficiently cover more acres in a day, the PL5205 is available in a 50-bu. bulk-fill hopper or individual row hoppers. Producers can also choose from a traditional 3-section mechanical ground drive, a 3-section variable rate-ready hydraulic drive, or electric individual row control (IRC) drive. The PL5205 is ISOBUS-compatible and provides producers with simple, practical monitor technology.

Like the rest of the PL-Series planters, the PL5205 utilizes the 5005 series Air-Pro® meter, offering the highest level of singulation on the market. The 5005 Series opener achieves uniform spacing by “dead-dropping” the seed directly into the trench using the Clear Shot® seed tube. The 5005 Series row unit offers long-term row unit stability, accurate seed depth, and a variety of press wheel options.

With a clean frame design, producers can enjoy high visibility and maneuverability in the field and on the road. A shortened 3-point attachment improves tractor leverage, weight balance, and overall center of gravity. Lift-assist is an option for tractors with a category 3 hitch, though rear lift-assist is not required for tractors with a category 4 hitch.

The PL5205 is a highly accurate seeding solution with practical technology, making quick, efficient work of planting for Delta producers.

Features May Include:

5000 SERIES ROW UNIT

• This design utilizes ductile cast parallel arms for long-term row unit stability. The 15", 4mm blades are offset 1/2" to form a perfect seed trench. Beginning in 2025, new models will feature new 5005 Series row units.

Great Plains ISO Solutions Suite

• The Great Plains ISO Solutions Suite delivers a simplified and universal ISOBUS-based interface solution that includes plug-and-play setup without the need for expensive aftermarket unlocks and subscriptions; access to remote support; and terminal extension capabilities from the field. This solution can be used with all Great Plains ISOBUS-compatible products.

3-DRIVE OPTIONS

• Choose between ground drive (shown), hydraulic drive, or Individual Row Control (IRC) for turn compensation and prescription map planting.

3-PT OR 2-PT WITH LIFT ASSIST

• PL5200 planters can be optioned with either full 3-point mounting for tractors large enough to handle the weight or 2-point mounted with castoring lift assist wheels to help with the lifting and flotation.

EXCLUSIVE HITCH OFFSET

• The optional side-shift feature helps keep the row units centered on top of the beds, yet gives twin-row models the ability to convert between single and twin row spacings in under an hour.

On-Board Seed Delivery Options

• The PL5200 planter offers a choice of on-row individual hoppers or bulk seed with air delivery. The 50-bushel bulk hopper is located close to the tractor to reduce the tractor’s 3-point lifting requirements.

SIMPLE SEED DELIVERY

• Seed distribution on bulk models is handled by a venturi system without any moving parts. This ensures reliability and makes cleanout easy.
