    Description

    2026 Double L 7340

Are you the type of farmer who doesn’t straddle the line between success and ruin every year? Do you never worry about having enough time to harvest the thousands of acres of potatoes that you’ve planted? Are you never under pressure to produce a cleaner, more bruise-free crop? If so, go back to browsing Pinterest. This harvester isn’t for you.

This harvester is for farmers who find themselves in the cab of their tractor at 3 a.m. trying to keep ahead of the next storm. It’s for farmers who require innovative equipment that will give them more capacity to plant additional fields or allow their crop to grow just a bit longer. It’s for farmers who aren’t satisfied with the status quo. If that’s you, then you’ve come to the right place.

    Features May Include:

    • 48-INCH-WIDE BELT PATHS

To hold the volume of up to 16 rows of potatoes, all of the flow paths in the harvester need to be wider and deeper. Widening the rear cross, side elevator, and boom by 12 percent makes the extra room necessary to pick up more rows at once.

    • 70-INCH-WIDE CLEANING TABLE

How advantageous would it be to have your handling line cleaning solution built into your harvester? The cleaning table on the 7340 is the full width and nearly the full length of Double L’s flagship dirt eliminator cleaning table. With its cleaning capability, more foreign material will be left in the field than with any other cleaning solution.

    • ELONGATED DIGGER BED

The longer the primary and secondary chains are, the more product can be dispersed throughout those sections of the harvester. The more spread out the product can be increases the harvester’s ability to sift out dirt from the product flow.

    • ROBUST FRAME

All of these extra features require a stronger frame to support it all. Double L is renowned for building the beefiest, most durable equipment on the market. Now made with Grade 50 high-strength, low-alloy steel, Double L can add structural strength without adding extra weight to the machine.

    • SELF-CLEANING ROLLERS

Have you noticed how anything used to clean eventually becomes dirty itself? When dirt or vines build up in your cleaning table you can reverse the direction of the rollers from the cab of the tractor. Clogs will break up and fall through the table.

    • TABLE SPEED CONTROL

Cleaning tables can be a source of product bruise. Clean loads don’t need to spend as long on the table, and operators can adjust the table speed accordingly. In heavier soil conditions, the table can be slowed down to allow for better in-field separation.

    • QUICK-ADJUST SHAFT SPREADER

There is no one-size-fits-all solution for every digging condition. Cleaning aggression is a real-time decision that needs to be made by the tractor operator. In wet, heavy, or rocky soil, the Tap touchscreen control can open the spacing between roller shafts to sift out more foreign material.

    • FULL-TABLE PITCH

The more time the product spends on the table the more likely it is to bruise. To roll product over the table faster, operators can incline the Galaxy Cleaning Table up to 5 degrees and use gravity to gently roll product onto the boom.

    • DYNAMIC STABILIZATION

At high speeds and under a full load, all harvesting implements tend to rock from side to side. Just set the stabilizer wheel where it needs to be to maintain balance, and it will take care of the rest. When the wheel hits a rock, it will compensate and automatically return to its set level.

    • DIGGER PITCH AND ROLL

The term “pitch and roll” sounds more like an evasive maneuver in a fighter jet than a potato harvester feature. The concept is still the same. Double L’s 7340 Harvester employs two independent rear axles to adjust the angle of the primary and secondary chains. Tipping the digger bed up filters out more dirt. Rolling the digger bed can better match the slope of your field.

    • “NO BRUISE” PACKAGE

Bruising happens no matter how careful you may be. However, there are some field-tested methods to lessen the impact of harvesting on your product. Padded transitions and C-Flex belted chain with pegs and ears buffer your crop through key transitions and minimize product rollback.

    • LEAST OBSTRUCTED VIEW

Ever had a guy with an enormous head sit in front of you at a movie theater? That’s about what it’s like when you have to operate a harvester with a boom or fan drive blocking your view. The more elegant design positions those elements out of the way to give you a clear view of the flow of your product.

    • SWING FUNCTION

Communication between the tractor operator and truck driver can be like a bad game of charades. How do you tell someone using just hand signals to only pull forward three feet? With the 7340’s swing boom feature, the tractor operator can articulate the boom from left to right up to 11 feet. The tractor operator will only need to signal the truck driver to pull forward once in a single load.

    • FOLD-OVER CAPABILITY

After buying a new harvester, the last thing you want is to bang up your boom in transport. Fold it over onto itself and keep it out of the way of trees, cars, cyclists, telephone poles, mail boxes, and fire hydrants – all of the things you’d ordinarily crash into with a knuckle-under boom.

    • BREAK-AWAY FEATURE

A harvester will load trucks hundreds – if not thousands – of times over the course of a season. Something is bound to happen. When a truck driver hits the boom, the hydraulics will allow the it to swing freely, buying time for the tractor operator to pull it out of the way.

    • OBSERVATION PLATFORM

No mechanical separation solution can remove 100 percent of all foreign material. The observation platform makes a place for one or two people to ride along and pull out clods and vines that survived the cleaning table.

    • FULL HD TOUCHSCREEN

When choosing the right tablet for the harvester controls, Double L sided with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. Its 10-inch display offers 1080p resolution and the brightest screen of all tested tablets.

    • REAL-TIME SENSOR MONITOR

The dashboard interface of the Tap controls displays real-time data from sensors on the fan drive; primary, secondary, side elevator, and boom chains; and the cleaning table. Tractor operators will know immediately if belts in any area of the harvester haven’t properly engaged.

    • CUSTOM BUTTON MAPPING

Controls have always been a matter of personal preference. Double L created the first ever fully customizable joystick and control pad. Every function of the harvester can be assigned to whichever button or toggle you prefer. All of your personalized settings are saved to the harvester controller. They are automatically retrieved by any Tap-enabled tablet you connect in your tractor.

    • BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY

Tap is Double L's new line of machine-operating controls. The hallmark of all Tap controls is wireless connectivity. Using Bluetooth technology, Tap has a connection radius of up to 30 feet (9.144 m). That means you can use your tablet outside of the tractor cab while troubleshooting any harvester feature.
